Our programs are organized into departments of youth community employment and development. As the Italian American Civil Rights League's mission statement explains, our purpose is to enhance the services of youth and families in the community and to promote neighborhood harmony, stability and quality of life.

COMPASS/SONYC

COMPASS NYC - IACRL program mission is to empower its youth, in part by supporting those skills and lessons learned during regular school hours, and in part by supplementing those areas of development not regularly provided during the school day...more

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)

Youth work up to 25 hours per week for six weeks with the goal of building on their individual strengths and incorporating youth development principles. SYEP participants are typically New York City residents between the ages 14 and 24 and are enthusiastic not just about earning money during the summer but building their resumes with good work experience as well ... more  

Work, Learn & Grow Employment Program (WLG)

The Work, Learn and Grow employment program is a New York City council funded initiative designed to build off of the experiences gained in the summer youth employment program (SYEP). Our program is designed to provide participants of the previous SYEP year between the ages of 16 and 19 who are currently enrolled in school with career readiness training and paid employment opportunities ... more

Neighborhood Development Area (NDA) Programs
