 SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT  PROGRAM

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth ages 14 and 15 with Project-Based Learning Activities and ages 16 to 24 with Paid Summer Employment for six weeks in July and August. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including:

Our education initiatives furthermore center on creating enjoyable activities within safe and nurturing environments, with a focus toward positive youth development.

  • Government Agencies

  • Hospitals

  • Summer Camps

  • Non-Profits

  • Small Businesses

  • Child Care Facilities

  • Senior Centers

  • Sports Enterprises

  • Retail Organizations

The 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is not currently accepting applications. We will update you as soon as the portal opens.

Youth can apply for the different program options listed below. Youth can apply online at the links below during the application period. Please note, applicants can only submit one (1) SYEP application, even if they qualify for multiple programs.

Program Requirements

NOTE: Applicants Age 16 and 17 MUST HAVE their Green Working Papers to be placed at a worksite. If you do not have your Working Papers, please speak with your School's Guidance Counselor to obtain them as soon as possible.

NOTE: Male Applicants Age 18 and over MUST BE ENROLLED in Selective Service. Click here for more information regarding Selective Service and how to enroll.
