Program Overview
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth ages 14 and 15 with Project-Based Learning Activities and ages 16 to 24 with Paid Summer Employment for six weeks in July and August. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including:

Summer Camps

Non-Profits

Small Businesses

Child Care Facilities

Senior Centers

Sports Enterprises

Retail Organizations
Specific Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining all SYEP participant files in a secure location

Attend job related trainings and workshops

Responsible for ensuring all SYEP participant files are complete. All forms must be signed and dated by the necessary person

Responsible for filing the payroll clerk's participant timesheet file into the main participant file

Responsible for participant folder audit: all necessary documents, signed forms and timesheets

Assist with SYEP operations

Ability to triple check all documentation to ensure accuracy and completion

Able to communicate with supervisors and directors to resolve any issues

Ability to meet daily, weekly deadlines in a timely manner
