Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)

Program Overview
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth ages 14 and 15 with Project-Based Learning Activities and ages 16 to 24 with Paid Summer Employment for six weeks in July and August. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including:

Hospitals

Summer Camps

Non-Profits

Small Businesses

Child Care Facilities

Senior Centers
-
Sports Enterprises
-
Retail Organizations
Youth can apply for the different program options listed below. Youth can apply online at the links below or at the IACRL's Administrative Office at 1460 Pennsylvania Ave., Suite 1B during the application period.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and out of concern for the health and safety of all New Yorkers, the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) has made the difficult decision to not operate SYEP (Community-Based, SYEP for NYCHA, School-Based) this summer.
